Head Nurse (Currently on Maternity Leave)
My career at Obex began in 2012 where I started as a Trainee Dental Nurse. Following my enrolment on the 2 year NEBDN Dental Nurse course, I passed my exams and progressed to a Qualified Dental Nurse in 2014. My career continued to progress as I then trained as an EDDN – (Extended Duties Dental Nurse) and passed my postgraduate certificate in Dental Radiography. From the beginning of joining Obex my dental knowledge has forever been expanding, after I qualified I have had exposure to Private dentistry in our other practice, I have worked alongside Specialist’s in Orthodontic and Periodontal treatments. My career then took a different direction and I became Head Nurse at Luton Dental Centre. I am responsible helping to manage our 11 surgery practice. I am line manager to 15 nurses that currently work here and In addition, I am trained as a witness and mentor to help with training and supporting trainee nurses throughout their National Certificate for Dental Nursing course. During spare time I enjoy activities with my friends and family, reading books and travelling.
Rebecca has been a receptionist at Obex for nearly 2 years, although it doesn’t seem very long she has progressed in more ways in such a short space of time and hope to continue as her time here goes on. She has made bonds with everyone within the practice which continues to make her time at Obex enjoyable as she has a lovely big personality it fits perfectly with everyone. Rebecca always strive to do her best for our patients at Luton Dental Centre but also for Dentist, Nurses and the reception team as she loves to keep everyone happy. Rebecca is happy and confident to assist to resolve situations. Patient care is for front and she is glad to be the one to begin the patient journey and be involved in the experience and pleasurable rather than traumatic. During her spare time she likes to spend time with friends and family.
Safyya has been with Obex for over 7 years and she is a valued member of staff. Each day presents her with new challenges which she faces head on. Existing and new patients keep her spirits high as she has nothing but interest for making their experience at Luton Dental Centre the best that it can be, as their journey starts and ends with reception.
Outside work she likes socializing with friends and family and she also loves babysitting her nieces and nephews as she knows she can always hand them back.
